Podssi (“we”, “us”) provides podcast hosting and related creator tools. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. We operate with a focus on South African creators and process payments in ZAR via Paystack.

Information we collect

  • Account data — name, email, and password hash when you register or accept an invite.
  • Workspace content — podcast metadata, episodes, audio files, covers, transcripts, and show notes you upload or generate.
  • Billing data — plan selection, billing email, and payment references. Card details are handled by Paystack; we store authorization codes needed for renewals, not full card numbers.
  • Usage data — download and listen aggregates for analytics (best-effort, without invasive cross-site tracking).
  • Technical logs — IP addresses and basic request metadata for security and debugging.

How we use information

  • To provide hosting, RSS feeds, public pages, transcription, and team features.
  • To bill and renew subscriptions through Paystack.
  • To communicate about your account, security, and service changes.
  • To improve reliability and prevent abuse.

Sharing

We share data with processors who help us run the service, including:

  • Cloudflare (media storage/CDN and edge infrastructure)
  • Paystack (payments in South Africa)
  • OpenAI (when you enable transcription / show-note generation)
  • Our hosting provider for the application database and PHP app

We do not sell your personal information. Public show and episode pages, RSS feeds, and media URLs you publish are intentionally public.

Retention

We keep account and workspace data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us; we will delete or anonymize personal data unless we must retain it for legal or billing records.

Security

We use industry-standard practices such as hashed passwords, CSRF protection on forms, and access controls by workspace role. No method of transmission is perfectly secure.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law (including POPIA in South Africa), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. Contact [email protected].

Children

Podssi is intended for adults creating podcasts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
